| ABOUT US Art Attack Workshop is owned and operated by two partners, Brian Botchar and Rhonda Brown, located in Sorrento, B.C., Canada. By combining their talents, Brian and Rhonda have developed a unique furniture design business, making custom-finished, one of a kind furniture pieces, from reclaimed wood. Many beautiful woods are disguised in the wooden pallets, etc. that businesses and industry throw out every day, creating mountains of discarded wood in our landfills. The reclaimed wood is gathered from industrial areas, sawmills and what would be considered general industrial wood waste. There are three additional steps in the manufacturing process when using reclaimed wood. The wood first needs to be located, picked up and then transported back to the shop, which can be the most labor intensive part of the process. It then needs to be cleaned of dirt, nails and planned, to determine species. Lastly it needs to be cut down to quality usable wood and then sorted, i.e., into species, length and thickness. The usage of reclaimed wood is more labor intensive and may be reflected in the cost of the finished product. The customer should know that a slightly higher price is the cost of recycling and protecting our environment. Aside from the environmental concern, we are sure that once you purchase one of our pieces, you will realize the appeal and character that nail holes, bolt holes and other fastener marks give our furniture and accessory pieces. Due to the nature of aquiring reclaimed woods we cannot guarantee orders that are species of wood specific i.e., All pine, oak, etc. Species specific orders can be filled but they may require using new wood. |
